Altitude launches Ascent 1, a 50,000t carbon removal purchasing facility, accelerating durable CDR solutions, supporting suppliers, and ensuring long-term growth, price certainty, and market stability.
Altitude is proud to announce the launch of its 50.000t large-scale Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) purchasing facility Ascent 1, designed to accelerate durable carbon removal solutions. This initiative establishes Altitude as a meaningful buyer of high-quality CDR credits, supporting the growth of the carbon removal industry.
By leveraging long-term procurement agreements and a proprietary structured purchasing strategy, the Ascent 1 facility enables efficient capital deployment into a highly focussed portfolio of engineered CDR credits. This approach ensures the long-term viability and scalability of proven carbon removal technologies.
Daniel Benjamin Schulz, CEO at Altitude, commented:
“The launch of our Ascent 1 purchasing facility marks a significant milestone in our mission to scale the carbon removal industry. By committing to 50.000t of large-scale CDR procurement, we are providing critical demand and price certainty for CDR suppliers that are scaling their working operations.”
The facility will focus on biomass-based removal technologies. As part of its commitment to high-quality CDR purchasing, Altitude is working with leading CDR pioneers such as Puro, BioFlux and Carbon Drawdown initiative. The facility is designed to provide long-term price signals and liquidity to CDR suppliers, ensuring the CDR market can act with more confidence.
Magnus Drewelies, CEO Ceezer
“Purchasing facilities are an important component to scaling carbon removal. Apart from helping giving necessary funding to project developers ahead of at-scale demand, they also play a role in securing volumes, stabilizing prices, and facilitating access to future volumes.”
Sebastien Dewarrat, CEO ClimeFi
“Altitude’s commitment to large-scale carbon removal procurement is exactly what the industry needs to scale. This initiative will provide essential financial stability to CDR suppliers - a very important piece of the puzzle.”
By establishing this large-scale purchasing facility, Altitude is actively contributing to the next phase of carbon removal market development, helping to bridge the gap from working facilities to larger scale deployment.
